I used to think these “organized moms” were just born with a special gene for tidiness. But over time, I realized and reminded myself that it wasn’t about magic; it was about habits and time management. It was about making small, consistent changes that created big results.
Here are 6 habits that I’ve learned as an organized stay-at-home mom (and that I’ve incorporated into my own life)

1. Plan Ahead
Plan your daily meals for the week ahead. This is one of the best hacks for a stay-at-home mom because this reduces impulse purchases that saves time and money during busy weeknights.
Create a to-do list for the week and break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones.
Scheduling Time for Yourself or Plan your morning routine. Block out time for yourself in your schedule, even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day. You can use a Google calendar and put it on your alarm clock. Trust me, It’s essential for your well-being and sanity!
2. Declutter at least Regularly
The 10-Minute Tidy: Set a timer for 10 minutes and tackle a small area in your home, like your kitchen counter or a shelf in your closet.
The “One In, One Out” Rule: For every new item that comes into your home, get rid of one old item.

I remember those early days with my boys, feeling overwhelmed every morning until evening, and it can feel like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done!
But over time, I learned the importance of time management. The idea is not about squeezing every single minute out of the day, but about prioritizing, planning, and making the most of the time we have.

1. Prioritize Tasks Using a Planner

Things like getting the kids ready for school, making meals, and doing laundry.
2. Plan your week and daily routine
Plan your meals for the week in advance, or the groceries you need to buy. List your recipe ideas because this will save you time and stress during the week.
Then schedule your whole day/week. Block out time in your schedule for important tasks, like exercise, errands, or personal time.
Make sure to keep a running to-do list to help you stay on track.
3. Be a Realistic Mama
Don’t Overcommit. Learn to say “no” to requests that will add unnecessary stress to your life.
Expect the Unexpected. Things will always come up, so be prepared to be flexible and to adjust your plans.
4. Eliminate Distractions
Turn Off Your Phone so that you can take breaks from social media,and lessen your screen time so you can focus on the task at hand. If you work from home, designate a specific workspace to help you stay focused.
Minimize Interruptions by letting your family know that you need some quiet time to work or to focus on a task.
5. Make Time for Yourself
Schedule ‘Me Time’ even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day, schedule time for yourself to relax, recharge, and de-stress.
